  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 can, 14 oz of salmon, drained and flaked
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, for frying
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and your favorite sauce

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Salmon Mixture
    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    - Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture holds together when pressed.
  • Step 2: Shape the Patties
    - Divide the mixture into four equal portions.
    - Form each portion into a patty approximately 1/2-inch thick.
  • Step 3: Cook the Patties
    - Heat olive oil in a pan over medium temperature.
    - Place the salmon patties in the pan and cook for 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
    - Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
  • Step 4: Assemble the Burgers
    - Toast the burger buns lightly for added crunch.
    - Set a prepared salmon patty on the lower half of each bun.
    - Add your preferred toppings, such as lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and your favorite sauce.
    - Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Substitution Tip: Swap breadcrumbs with crushed crackers or panko for added crunch.
  • Storage: Cooked patties can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Use a skillet or microwave to reheat the patties for the best results.
